Espostoa lanata Cactus

The Espostoa lanata, often called the Peruvian Old Man Cactus, is a stunning example of natural elegance and resilience. Its tall, columnar form is cloaked in a soft, white, wool-like covering that gives it a striking, almost ethereal beauty—resembling a cactus wrapped in clouds. This delicate-looking “fur” not only adds to its visual charm but also serves a vital purpose, protecting the plant from the intense sun and cold of its Andean mountain home. When mature, it may produce delicate white or pinkish flowers that bloom at night, adding a touch of mystery to its appearance. The contrast between its rugged structure and silky, snow-like hairs makes Espostoa lanata a captivating symbol of beauty in harsh environments—a perfect blend of strength and grace found in the desert.

الضوء

This cactus needs plenty of bright, indirect light, with an occasional dose of sun – but avoid harsh sunlight as this may scorch the plant if it has not been acclimatised.

🌿Overwatering can cause root rot and make your plant mushy. For best results, wait for the soil to dry-out before watering.
