Alocasia portodora is all about glossy green, lush tropical foliage. The upward pointing scalloped leaves on thick green stems give it the alternative name of upright elephant ear plant.

A statement houseplant from the jungles of South East Asia that will feel right at home in the humid environment of kitchens and bathrooms.

Thrives in bright, well-lit conditions, however direct sunlight should be avoided as it will scorch the leaves.

Alocasia do not benefit from shade, and will begin to suffer if light is too low.

Alocasia plants like evenly moist soil, but they do not like to sit in water. To avoid root rot, allow the top two inches of soil to dry out before watering.

Thrives in a moist environment with above average humidity. Ideally suited for kitchens and bathrooms and will appreciate a good misting.
