Sturt\u2019s desert rose, is a woody shrub, closely related to cultivated cotton, found in most mainland states of Australia and the Northern Territory.  It is also known as the Darling River rose, cotton rosebush and Australian cotton.<\/strong><\/div>\n
The plant has a life span of about 10 years, growing from 1\u20132 m tall and 1\u20132 m wide.  The flowers are up to 12 cm in diameter: they can be seen for most of the year but peak in late winter.  The five petals are arranged in a whorl and have a dark red centre.  The leaves are different shades of green, round and strongly scented when crushed.<\/strong><\/div>\n

\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0631\u0636: <\/span>Adeniums like well-drained soil, so you should add more perlite in your potting mix. If you plant in the soil, you can use more sand than usual.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u0627\u0644\u0645\u064a\u0627\u0647: <\/span>Adeniums don\u2019t like a lot of water, so you should let the soil completely dry before you water again (in the winter it can take up to even a week, depending on the pot size and the soil used). You will notice that as the weather gets more hot, the soil will be drying out faster, until around the 15-30 of May, when you will have to be watering daily, until end of September.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u0627\u0644\u062a\u0642\u0644\u064a\u0645: <\/span>Adeniums are very forgiving plants when it comes to pruning, and actually they grow back even prettier, when pruned strictly.  So when you see your plants getting too long and floppy and giving less flowers, it\u2019s time to take out your scissors!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flowering: <\/span>if your Adenium has slowed down on flowering, offer more sun, cut down on watering and don\u2019t be afraid to prune it back a lot.<\/strong><\/p>\n
