Description

Agave americana, also known as century plant, is a member of the family Agavaceae. These succulent plants thrive in the warmer regions of the U. where freezes are not a problem.

Century plants are quite drought tolerant and easy to grow, which makes them perfect additions to a garden where the gardener wishes to xeriscape. PLANT CARE

Watering:
For the first month or two, water the plant every 4-5 days. Agaves only need to be watered 2-3 times a month in the summer, or more if you live in a low desert area.

Fertilizer:
Use all-purpose fertilizers like N-P-K fertilizer in a 10-10-10 ratio for landscape method. When growing in pots, fertilize the plant once every two months using liquid fertilizers.

Re-potting:
Re-pot the agave plants to bigger pots every year which can boost the plant growth without any damage to the roots.
