Flaunting teeny weeny, itsy-bitsy, white polka dotted greenery, this beautiful Begonia is the leaf-envy of horticultural society. Showing off her spots, the Begonia Maculata contrasts white with rich, green, delicate foliage against a raspberry backdrop.
Will unintentionally draw attention and not apologise for it.
Light
The Begonia Maculata thrives in bright, indirect light. Try to keep it out of direct sunlight and shade, as the former will scorch the leaves and too much of the latter will cause the plant to wilt.
Watering
Water your Polka Dot Begonia weekly, keeping the soil moist at all times. Do not overwater, as waterlogged roots are prone to rot. Watering little and often is a good approach.
Humidity
Needs an environment with above average humidity. Mist frequently or relocate to the kitchen or bathroom for a while to give it an occasional boost if required.
Feed
Apply fertiliser twice a month (every two weeks) during the growing season to encourage flowering.
Height & Growth Rate
If the conditions are right, the Polka Dot Begonia can be a fast growing plant, rising to an ultimate height of around 1.5 metres
