Ginseng is the Chinese word for root and Ficus microcarpa Ginseng Bonsai is uniquely identifiable by its strong, thick, exposed root system that looks more like a tree trunk than roots. These aerial root systems take years to grow, but over time they develop fascinating, primordial shapes. The leaves are small, dark green and oval-shaped.
Ficus microcarpa has many common names including Pot Belly Fig, Laurel Fig, Laurel Rubber, Curtain Fig and Strangling Fig. Ficus microcarpa Ginseng make excellent bonsai and look brilliant in any contemporary room setting.
Light🌞
Bonsai requires a lot of light, indirect light to be specific. So placing it near a window is ideal for this plant. This plant also does not like to be moved around, so as you fix it for one spot, try to leave it there undisturbed for quite some time.
water 💧
Bonsai requires frequent watering but only when the top inch of the soil is dry to the touch. We recommend every week but ensure to check the soil before doing so. Overwatering will cause root rot. The Curtain Fig requires to be repotted every 2/3 years and the plant will love you and reward you for doing so. Again, this plant doesn’t like to be moved around and sudden temperature changes can cause growth stress.
Daily misting to maintain humidity is advised, don’t overdo this otherwise fungal problem.
