Ficus Bonsai S Shape – XL

Ginseng is the Chinese word for root and Ficus microcarpa Ginseng S Shape is uniquely identifiable by its strong, thick, exposed root system that looks more like a tree trunk than roots. These aerial root systems take years to grow, but over time they develop fascinating, primordial shapes. The leaves are small, dark green and oval-shaped.

Ficus microcarpa has many common names including Pot Belly Fig, Laurel Fig, Laurel Rubber, Curtain Fig and Strangling Fig. Ficus microcarpa Ginseng make excellent bonsai and look brilliant in any contemporary room setting.

🌱Retaining all that water weight!

Ficus Ginseng stores water in its thick exposed roots, meaning you only need to water every 1-2 weeks.

🌱Leaf drop may occur with insufficient light. Find a brighter spot out of the direct sunlight and your plant should quickly recover.

🌱Give your Ficus a trim to maintain the desired shape.

Ficus microcarpa Ginseng prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some partial shade. Harsh, direct sunlight may burn the leaves.

Water when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil slightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause leaf drop.

This Ficus has no specific humidity requirements, although for an added boost, consider occasionally misting your plant or relocate to steamier rooms like the kitchen or bathroom.

fertiliser can be applied during the growing season, once a month or so should be sufficient.

Height & Growth Rate

In their native environment, Ficus microcarpa grow into very tall trees. Indoors, simply trim to maintain desired height and shape. Moderately fast-growing.
