Ficus Elastica Belize – Rubber Tree Plant 3 pp 110 cm

The Rubber plant, in Latin the Ficus Elastica, is a strong air-purifying plant that can withstand many conditions. For example, the Ficus can live well in partial shade to shade, the plant needs little water and is well resistant to insects. The rubber plant owes its name to the fact that rubber was once made from the leaves. Today, the plant is only grown to look beautiful in living rooms and offices. Originally the Ficus comes from Africa, but the plant is also found in South America, Australia and Asia. The Ficus belongs to the Moraceae, or Mulberry family, plant family. The Ficus Elastica Belize is characterized by the variegated leaves that have a beautiful pink color, making it a striking and beautiful plant in the house!

Ficus elastica prefers bright, indirect light but does cope quite well in lower light conditions.

Avoid direct sunlight as this may scorch the leaves.

Water when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause leaf drop.

This Ficus has no specific humidity requirements, although it will benefit from an occasional misting.

For an added boost, consider moving your plant to a steamier room such as a kitchen or bathroom.

Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.

Can grow to many metres tall in its native environment. Indoors however, it is up to you: simply trim to maintain your desired height. Typical indoor heights are anything from 30cm to 2m. Moderate to fast-growing.

🌿Go big or go home! Ficus elastica can grow up to 30ft tall. When desired height is achieved, simply cut the top off.
