Lucky Bamboo is a much hardy and steadfast plant so it is easier to grow indoor than other indoor plants. But for getting the best shape and beauty of your bamboo plant you need to maintain some conditions in which the bamboo plant can grow healthy, the conditions are proper light and temperature, soil with adequate moisture content, a container with a proper drainage system, It takes much time to achieve the desired shape of your lucky bamboo and for this, you have to wait with patience.
Light:
Lucky bamboo tolerates bright light without direct sunlight. They are more suited in low light than too much light. If you put your bamboo plant in too much light or direct sunlight then the leaves can be scorched. Placing those in much lower light may cause stretch or green fading of your plant and to prevent this you should place your plant in bright light, but not in direct sunlight.
Soil:
Lucky Bamboo prefers good potting soil and you should not use mire or sand type soil. You should ensure a proper draining system to protect your plant from being waterlogged. The plant also grows well in a vase that is full of water.
Water:
You should water your bamboo plants with bottled water or distilled water. You should not use tap water for your bamboo plants as tap water contains chlorine and other chemical elements which are sensitive for bamboo plants. If you want to use tap water for your plant then put the tap water in a container for 24 hours because at this time chlorine and other chemical elements are evaporated at bottom of the container. If you grow your bamboo plant in a water base then change the water once each week.
