Polyscias Ming – Aralia Ming

Polyscias are versatile, small, indoor, branching trees. They grow in an upright and compact manner, making them suitable even in smaller spaces. Polyscias translates from the Greek as

“many” and “shade”, a reference to their abundant foliage.

Polyscias Ming has fine, elegant leaves that are made up of many leaflets. They may look fragile, but fortunately this is an adaptable plant so long as it is kept in a warm, humid environment. Perfect to add a touch of oriental style and beauty to your home.

🌱Snug as a bug! This plant can be very picky with indoor temperatures and humidity levels. Too cold and leaves will rapidly drop, too dry and the leaves will dry-up. Keep between 18-29°C all year round.

🌱Prune to maintain shape and develop thicker trunks. Pinch out leaves to encourage branching.

🌱Lower leaves can drop in the colder seasons. This is natural and has the added benefit of revealing more of the attractive trunk feature.

Polyscias Ming prefers moderate to bright, indirect light but can also adapt to shade. Avoid direct sunlight as this may scorch the plant.

Water when the top layer of soil has become dry.

Better to keep them slightly dry than to overwater. Use soft water if possible.

Prefers moderate to high humidity levels. Dry air may cause leaf drop. Mist regularly. Ideal for kitchens and bathrooms.
