The Silver Torch Cactus (Cleistocactus strausii) is a striking and elegant indoor beauty known for its tall, slender, and silvery-blue stems that are covered in soft, white spines. Native to the mountainous regions of Bolivia and Argentina, this cactus thrives in bright indoor spaces and brings a touch of desert charm to any room.
Light
Needs lots of bright light! This plant will love your sunniest window; if in doubt, choose a South- or West-facing window ledge.
Watering
Allow the soil to completely dry out in between waters. When you do water, completely soak the soil. Don’t water over winter.
Feed
Liquid fertiliser can be applied during the growing season, once a month or so should be sufficient.
Toxicity
Non-toxic, but spines aren’t that fun to eat so best to keep away from pets and small humans.
