A member of the popular, low-maintenance Dracaena plant family, the Dracaena Fragrans ‘Sol’ has long, slender leaves adorned with green and yellow striations. This versatile plant will thrive best in bright light which helps it retain its color but it can tolerate lower light conditions.
Light
Dracaena fragrans prefers medium to bright light but can tolerate lower light levels. Avoid direct sunlight as this may burn or bleach the leaves.
Watering
Water when the soil starts to dry-out at the top, water well and allow to drain thoroughly. Relatively drought tolerant. Do not overwater as this will cause the leaf tips to blacken.
Humidity
Dracaena are hardy houseplants and will do well in normal room humidity, however they do prefer higher humidity and will benefit from occasional misting.
Feed
Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.
Height & Growth Rate
Fragrans Coast is a slow-growing plant which typically reaches an ultimate height of 2 to 2.5 metres.
Toxicity
The sap of the Dracaena fragrans is toxic to animals. It is not considered poisonous to humans but should not be ingested.
