- Zinnia Elegans (also known as Common Zinnia) is one of the most rewarding flower species. They bear flowers of brilliant colours at plenty of rate densely. They mostly bloom extending from the start of Summer to frost. Zinnia Elegans (Common Zinnia) generally could grow up to 30 -90cm upright with a distinct blooming appearance. Some flowers might emerge singly with petals at one row with centre exposed, or some might be semi-double with petals of several rows but centre again exposed or some flowers might give spiky looks. Colours of Zinnia flowers range from white, cream, pinks, purples, red, apricot, yellow, green, salmon, orange and bronze. These all factors along with easy to care and long-lasting condition makes them perfect as outdoor blooming plants, especially for cottage gardens, borders gardening etc.
Plant Care 🪴
- They are easy to care for, fast-growing annuals, relevant for warm seasons and require minimum maintenance. They generally perform well when kept in presence of full sunlight. Water requirement in their case is low, especially at its mature state. They are Drought tolerant too. The soil on which they are supposed to be planted must be well-drained. To their healthy growth, temperature must be above 16 degree Celsius, in their case. Ideally the temperature must be around 23 – 28 degree Celsius. In terms of feeding, use any organic fertilizers.
