Apple tree-Malus domestica Gloster (Fruit Plant) 160cm

The apple tree (Malus domestica ‘Gloster’) is a late-ripening, high-yielding cultivar known for its striking red fruits and excellent storage qualities. Originating in Germany in the mid-20th century, ‘Gloster’ is a cross between ‘Glockenapfel’ and ‘Richared Delicious’. The tree grows vigorously with a broad, pyramidal crown and produces large, conical apples with smooth, glossy skin that is predominantly dark red over a green-yellow base. The flesh is firm, crisp, and slightly tart, offering a refreshing flavor that improves after a short storage period. ‘Gloster’ trees bloom in mid-season with attractive pinkish-white flowers and are partially self-fertile, though they benefit from cross-pollination with other compatible varieties. This cultivar is valued for its good resistance to common apple diseases, reliable productivity, and suitability for both fresh consumption and culinary use.

رعاية النباتات🪴

☀️ الضوء

• Full sun is essential – at least 6–8 hours per day.

• Avoid shaded spots; poor light reduces flower and fruit production.

💧 غرس الأشجار

Keep soil moist but not soggy, especially during:

•Establishment (first 1–2 years)

•Flowering and fruit development.

•Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

✂️ التقليم

Time: Late winter to early spring (before bud break).

Purpose:

Shape the tree (open center or tiered form)

Remove dead/diseased wood

Improve airflow and light penetration

Summer pruning (light) helps control size and encourages fruiting spurs.

🍎 Feeding

Apply a balanced fruit-tree fertilizer (e.g., NPK )
